Super cozy cafe on Baldwin st! The main level has some chairs and tables available to sit and study. The downstairs area is super cozy with a few different sofa and chair options available. There is also a really nice patio setup outside, especially great for the warmer months. I got a mocha which was good but not excellent. I would consider asking for it to be half sweet to allow it to have better balance.

Five stars doesn’t even begin to cover what Butter & Blue means to me. This was our place—my ex-girlfriend’s go-to spot that quickly became one of the most special parts of our routine together. We’d sit out on their beautiful, peaceful patio—tucked away yet somehow in the middle of downtown—and it always felt like a quiet little escape from the noise of the world. She was an iced coffee girl through and through, and I was the one double-fisting both hot and cold drinks—sometimes a matcha latte in one hand, an oat latte in the other. The drinks menu here felt like it was made just for us—every item perfectly aligned with our shared caffeine obsessions. But it wasn’t just the drinks. Their rotating selection of small bites and pastries—clearly made in-house with love and care—was something we genuinely geeked out over. We’d often order several, just because “we had to.” That was our thing: same taste, same instinct, same joy in the little things. We even brought her dog once. I still miss that dog deeply. She got a little nervous on the patio, but I didn’t mind—I had less than half my drink left, and the staff were kind and understanding, just as they always are. Butter & Blue is something rare. It feels calm and grounding, even though it sits just off some of Toronto’s busiest streets. The walks we took to get there, the time we spent in that cozy little corner—it all became a part of something bigger. A part of a chapter in my life that was real and full of meaning. And though it hurts now, I’d never trade it for anything. One of my only regrets? I never bought one of their branded baseball caps. It felt like a piece of the place I could carry with me. Maybe one day I’ll go back and finally get it—something tangible to honour how deeply this little café became a part of a time I’ll never forget. Butter & Blue is more than a café. It’s a memory, a mood, a moment you never want to let go of.
